CLINICAL SUPERVISION

Prior to creating Modern Mindful Therapy, Sherry was a Psychiatric Social Worker in the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health, the most extensive county mental health system in the country. This experience solidified her belief in the recovery model as well as the impact of evidence based treatment and other therapy approaches for severe and persistent mental illness. Sherry is a firm believer that learning is a lifelong process and continues training and expanding upon her clinical expertise to this day.

As Sherry has experienced in previous work settings, a cohesive and capable multi-disciplinary team is essential for the wellbeing of the population served. If you or your agency are seeking supervision or clinical consultation,  you can expect guidance & support in the following areas:

  • Crisis intervention, assessment, diagnostic formulation, screening/outcome tools, case conceptualization, and treatment planning

  • Individual or group clinical supervision for complex cases (intimate partner violence, substance abuse, co-occurring disorders, child abuse and prevention, etc)

  • Integrative treatment approaches, as well as CBT, DBT, CPT, ERP, Seeking Safety, IPT, ACT, and Mindfulness based interventions

  • Individual, group, family, couples work

  • Experience with DSM 5 diagnoses such as bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, post traumatic stress disorder, social phobia, borderline personality disorder, dissociation, bereavement, and more
