Therapy is a deeply personal experience of openness, exploration, and transformation made possible through trust, nonjudgment, and genuineness. While you will be supported throughout, true change comes from within. Many have found that it's a very different experience from talking to a friend and varies greatly even by therapist. For most people, it is highly encouraged to attend weekly sessions to experience the changes one is looking for. Therapy is a commitment to actively working towards your wholeness and recovery.
What is Therapy?
Teletherapy
For convenience and accessibility I have chosen to focus on teletherapy. I am here to support you by providing phone or video therapy for your ongoing needs. And yes, you can do EMDR virtually! I use a special video platform that allows for bilateral processing.
Typical therapy sessions are $275 for 45 mins. Longer sessions can be provided on a prorated basis. EMDR sessions are 60 mins due to processing and grounding that is needed.
My Fee
Insurance
Here's everything you need to know about me as an out of network provider:
Your insurance plan may carry out of network (OON) benefits. Using OON benefits helps to offset therapy fees when you're focusing on finding the right therapist to click with. Even though I am out of network with your plan, your insurance provider may reimburse you for therapy services. I provide a monthly "superbill" (a detailed receipt) for you to submit to your insurance. This means you are responsible for full payment at each session. If you're looking for info on how to navigate a conversation with your insurance about your OON benefits, feel free to check out this guide.
If you already know your OON benefits, the reimbursement process doesn't need to be daunting. Apps like Reimbursify and Thrizer help to simplify the process of insurance reimbursement.
What to Expect
You can expect your first visit (intake) to take 50-60 mins. In addition to reviewing your prescreening form we will go through your history together. Intake is usually an in-depth process for me to hear about your story, get to know who you are while focusing on your needs, and for us to collaborate on what you want to get out of therapy.
"Fit" in the therapy relationship is essential to your healing and your feedback is always welcome. I'm willing to help you find someone else if you're not feeling it.
